Connect your Winky to your device through Bluetooth
Note : Your device must support Bluetooth 4.0 or later version to connect to Winky.
If the connection is not done automatically, the application will detect it and explain the procedure to you. The Bluetooth connection is made automatically when the “My Winky” application is opened.
Check that Winky is ON by looking at the position of the ON/OFF button located under his head.
If the connection is not automatically done, the application will explain the procedure to follow.
To connect Winky via Bluetooth in “Winky Code”, follow these steps:
1) Activate Bluetooth and geolocation in your tablet or smartphone settings.
2) Open “Winky Code” app and log in.
3) Click on the pairing icon located at the top right of the main menu.
If you have only one Winky and it is turned ON, the connection will be made automatically. Otherwise, restart your Winky using the ON/OFF button located under the robot's head.
Note : If you have several Winkys and they are switched on, the pairing window will open.
Initially, it is usually empty and white. This means that no Winky is detected yet.
4) Turn on Winky with the ON/OFF button.
5) Your Winky should appear in the Bluetooth connection window as a blue line and named Winky.
6) Select the line by pressing it once. Wait for 2 seconds. Your Winky is now connected to the app.
7) If your Winky does not appear, try turning it OFF then turning it back ON using the ON/OFF button and/or the standby button.
When you connect Winky to your device via Bluetooth, the eyes of Winky will display the Bluetooth symbol.
If Winky is disconnected from the Bluetooth, an animation appears in his eyes and only the local "Game" mode can be launched.
In order to use “Mon Winky” or “Winky Code” app, you must connect Winky to your device again.
The use of Bluetooth technology can generate a latency time between the sending of a program made up of programming bricks in Winky and the reaction of Winky.
This delay is variable and depends on the complexity of the brick sent as well as the model of the device you are using. This is not a malfunction but an inherent constraint of Bluetooth technology.
